In timed qualifying Tim got 3rd in the wet, only being out paced by local driver Moss and 6 times British champion Edgar. With a heat win and a 4th place Tim lined up 2nd for the pre-final alongside local favourite Woodland. Tim couldnt hold on to the second place and dropped to 5th but managed to get 4th back from Holland with a couple of laps to spare. The main final was not so good as he was pushed wide at the first corner dropping Tim to 13th, I hard push through the field saw Tim get back up to 6th and doing similar times to the leaders.

S1 round 1 PFi

The first round of the Super One series started in damp conditions with qualifying. Tim went out and was emideitely u near the front and eventualy ended up second. As the day went on the track dried up and with the 177s expecting a dry race the heavens started to open. There was a mass panic on the grid as the drivers and mechanics tried to change the set up. Tim miss the allotted time to get to the grid so had to miss out on starting 2nd and was sent to the back. Dispite this Tim managed to drive through the field and ended u 3rd. In teh second heat Tim managed to finish 4th. This put Tim 3rd on the grid for the pre-final. As the race started Tim dropped to 4th as seriers favourite Lucas Orrock over took. The top 4 which included Tim managed to make a brake from the rest of the field, but just as the race was starting to settle and electrical problem forced Tim to stop. Some quick on track fixing meant Tim was able to rejoin the race but by this time he was a lap down. The final saw Tim gutted from what hapened in the pre-final start 12th. Tim worked his way up through the field to 4th but by this time the top 3 had made a break and as the race went on brake problems meant Tim finaly finished 5th.

February at PFi

February PFi

After some impressive testing in the wet that saw Tim generally running about 2nd quickest on the Saturday, but this was not to be the case when race day came which saw Tim slip down the pecking order in the wet conditions. Starting 5th in drying condition Tim made a god start and was running 5t and keng up with the leaders. Then as the race drew to a close the racing started to get a little more aggresive, which is where Tim saw his opertunity to nip through and take the lead, but Tim was unable to hold on to the lead with a late charge from Luke Woodland with Tim comming a close second.

A strong line up that made the grid ressemble an all star Super One grid, with two time national champion Dan Holland and reigning '0' plate champion Lucas Orrock. Also number 7 Tom Holland and number 11 and 14 Milan Mach and Tom Pyttlik. With local front runners Lee Torrie and Scott Clee also sitting on the grid. Lucas run away with the weekend winning all but 1 heat that went to Tim which put Tim second on the grid. The usual first corner bumping saw Tim on the outside drop down to 9th but with an inspired drive saw Tim climb through the field and with the closest finish of Tims life he managed to grab 3rd on the line from Scott Clee by 1000s of a second.

The weekend started with so much promise. Straight from the start of friday morning Tim was about 3rd - 4th quickest, and well able to mix it with the leaders. But the weekend wasnt to be with 3 retierments. Starting near the back of the grip Tim moved through the field quickly and was pushing for 6th position when Tim picked up a puncture putting his mark on the race.

Shenington Super One

Qualy did not go well as Tim struggled to get the most out of teh new set of tyres. Starting near the back Tim started to move through the field when his brakes faild, luckily it was near the pit bend so Tim could safely bring the kart round to the pits. Sunday was a lot better after making some adjustments to the kart. Heat 2 saw Tim move through the field and get 6. In Final one Tim managed to move through the field and was running 3rd but after some close racing Tim eventually finished 6th. The Grand Final was another close race from 3rd downwards that saw Tim running 3rd again but eventauly droping to 7th and a last lap punt saw Tim finish 9th.

August kimboton meeting

Kimbolton August

A brilliant day which saw Tim Penton take 2 heat wins and a 5 that put him on pole for the final. A poor start saw Tim drop to second. On lap 4 Tim managed to slip past Darch on teh second attempt. Tim then pull a small lead before a rolling lap period so that they marshalls could clear up a tyre wall. At the re-sart Tim could'nt make a comfortabe gap from a charging Torrie but managed to hold on for the win unchallenged. After thinking the kart was not handling as well as it could have for the final Tim found that his front left had a puncture and came in at 5psi, so Tim was lucky to finish let alone win.

Larkhall Super One

Larkhall Super One

After struggling to find pace through friday and saturday Tim managed to get it together on Sunday. In the Heat pushing Holland the eventual winner to a good 5th spot. The final saw Tim start 12 but a first lap incident saw Tim loose his nose cone and falling a lap behind due to this. Tim starting 16th in the final managed to work his way up to 6th untill a last lap lunge from someone behind saw Tim eventauly finish 8th.
