From Producer to Front End Developer
Built and launched sites for Sainsbury’s, Fiat, Nike, and Xbox. Moving from content updates to full front end development across web, CMS, and email.
Overview: I spent five years at AKQA, starting as an intern before progressing from Producer to Front End Developer. My work spanned site builds, CMS integration, HTML emails, and Facebook pages, collaborating closely with creative, back-end, and QA teams to deliver high-profile digital projects.
Role: Front End Developer
Date: November 2006 – July 2011
Front End Developer
Developed and maintained websites and HTML emails for Sainsbury’s, Fiat, Forevermark, and AKQA’s own site.
Built templates for CMS platforms, Facebook pages (FBML), and HTML5 sites.
Partnered with designers early in the process to align creative ideas with CMS capabilities.
Worked alongside back-end developers and QA to meet launch deadlines and resolve pre-release issues.
Senior Producer (prior role at AKQA)
Managed updates for Xbox and Microsoft websites, balancing creative concepts with platform constraints.
Promoted to the Nike team, where I led a small producer team, running stand-ups and managing workloads.
Oversaw content updates and site setup for Nike+, Nike Football, Nike Golf, and Nike Human Race.
